What do I need to self-host Uptrail?

A Node/Bun-capable application host, a MySQL database, and network access from the Uptrail server to each monitored target. Put the app behind your existing HTTPS reverse proxy and forward WebSocket connections.

Can it monitor services inside a private network?

Yes. Deploy Uptrail where it can reach your internal APIs, databases, Redis instances, Nats servers, and TCP ports. The monitored services do not need to be exposed to the public internet.

How are monitor credentials handled?

Connection settings are stored with the workspace configuration. Use dedicated, least-privilege probe accounts, restrict access to the control plane and database, and rotate credentials on your normal security schedule.

What does the one-time license include?

It includes the complete self-hosted product and a lifetime license for your deployment. You operate the infrastructure and retain control of the application and monitoring data.

Can we start self-hosted and move to managed hosting?

Yes. The product capabilities remain the same; the difference is who operates the infrastructure. Contact us to plan a migration that preserves your monitor and incident data.
